“Childhood means simplicity. Look at the world through a child’s eye. It is very beautiful.”

A Typical Day with Pride & Joy

Actually, there isn’t really a typical day, because there’s always something new to do or discover.
But ask me to care for your child on a daily basis, and some things will always be the same.

A day with me is a day of rhythm and routine. Of play and smiles balanced with order and relaxation. Of allowing each child’s unique abilities to flow from them naturally.

And of creating a safe, secure space to ‘Be’ - full of opportunity, but free from unnecessary demands.

Within that framework, a full day might look like this:

Early morning:

Help (if your child needs it) to get out of bed, washed and dressed, ready for a balanced and wholesome breakfast.  We take things easy first thing, slowly setting them up for the rest of the day.

Morning:

Time for a session of true free-play; allowing their imagination to flourish. I’ll be observing your child, their behaviour and their development as they play. I’ll be available to assist in the play and to keep them safe when needed.

Mid-morning:

It’s tidy up time. A healthy little snack, followed by singing seasonal songs, nursery rhymes and action games. We’ll put on our outdoor clothes and go on an adventure; whatever the weather! We may need to remember to buy something at the shop or post that letter for Mummy or Daddy. Woodlands, parks and beaches are our favourite places to hunt for some of nature’s treasures.

Lunch:

A tasty, home cooked, healthy lunch. If your child loves getting involved, they’ll always be welcome to help me prepare meals.

Early afternoon:

Time to slow things down. We’ll have a lovely, calming story. Yawns and nap time are usually not far behind.

Afternoon:

Simple pleasures. Creative pursuits such as watercolour painting and baking bread are high on the agenda.  Building dens in the garden or hosting our own teddy bear tea parties. Whatever they enjoy, we’ll do time and again.

Let’s chat about how I could help you and your children. Please get in touch.
