About Me
Hello. I’m Ruth. I’m a professional nanny.
I tend to serve the good people close to home, in and around the Fylde Coast, including Wrea Green, Lytham, Ansdell, St.Annes, Blackpool, Staining, Poulton-le-Fylde and Thornton-Cleveleys. Of course I am willing to travel further afield when available. I describe myself as a champion of childhood, which is a rather grand way of saying I believe in letting children experience the world and all the simple things in it – the sort of things you probably remember from your own childhood.
Of having space and time to play and letting the imagination and talents grow. Of playing house and dolls’ tea parties, picnics in the park, den building in the garden, and those simple trips to the local shops. I like to promote the wholesome home cooking and healthy eating that are so important for the physical growth of children. When your child asks “Can I help?” they are welcome to join in – there’s always fun to be had in the kitchen.
16+ years’ experience
I’m passionate about what I do. For over sixteen years I’ve worked within the childcare industry – as a professional nanny and in other roles. I’ve worked in a variety of settings including private and community nurseries, corporate crèches and, more often, within my clients’ homes.
I’ve also cared for children from early years to teenagers, children from multiple-births, children who have additional needs, and others with challenging behaviours.

Qualifications and credentials
I have a current Level 3 certificate in childcare, and I’m continuing my professional development by training to become a Steiner Waldorf Early Years Practitioner (specialising in children from birth to seven years). I also hold a BA in Contemporary Performing Arts and a BSc in Animal Behaviour and Welfare.
